Music Warrior AI

One MCP endpoint for AI clients: chord, scale and tuning answers from the Warrior Network’s own data, each with a link to the page that owns it.

Music Warrior AI is the Warrior Network’s front door for AI clients: a single Model Context Protocol endpoint. A client that speaks MCP calls one of its tools with a music question, the answer is read from the same data the network’s sites publish as pages, and it comes back with the address of the page that owns it.

Install the Endpoint

One address, over Streamable HTTP, read-only, with no account and no API key:

https://musicwarrior.ai/mcp

Claude

In Claude Desktop or on claude.ai, open Settings, choose Connectors, then Add custom connector, and paste the address above.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http music-warrior-ai https://musicwarrior.ai/mcp

Cursor

Add this to .cursor/mcp.json in a project, or to your global Cursor MCP settings:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "music-warrior-ai": {
      "url": "https://musicwarrior.ai/mcp"
    }
  }
}

The Tools

Every tool is read-only and stateless: every caller gets the same answer to the same question. This list is generated from the endpoint’s own tool registry, so it names exactly what the endpoint serves.

  • list_instruments() — List every instrument this server has chord and tuning data for — id, display label, family, tuning (open-string notes low to high) and a link to its chord library.
  • list_chord_qualities(instrument) — List every chord quality (major, m7, dom7, sus4, add9, ...) this instrument actually has voicings for, with a display label and, where the label differs meaningfully from the id, a common alias (e.g. "dom7" aliases "7").
  • list_scale_types() — List all 24 scale types this server knows — id, display label, category (Common, Pentatonic, Blues, Modes, Bebop, Symmetric), interval formula (semitones from the root), and, for scales that are also a mode of the major scale, its common alias.
  • get_tuning(instrument, variant?) — Look up one instrument's open-string tuning, low to high.
  • get_chord(instrument, root, quality, position?) — Look up every voicing this server has for one chord on one instrument — frets (low string first, null = muted, 0 = open; each is the fret the player stops that string at, so the 5-string banjo's short fifth string reads from fret 6 up), base fret (the library's own position band, which "position" filters on; the diagram on the page may open its window elsewhere), CAGED shape where applicable, and the actual notes/interval degrees sounded by that specific voicing (not just the chord's theoretical tone set).
  • get_scale(instrument?, root, scale_type) — Look up one scale's notes and interval formula in a given key, degree-spelled (e.g. Lydian's raised 4th reads "#4", not "b5").
  • transpose_chord(name, semitones) — Transpose one chord symbol by a number of semitones.
  • transpose_progression(chords, from_key, to_key) — Transpose a whole chord progression from one key to another in one call — every chord shifts by the same interval.
  • get_page_url(topic, instrument, key?, quality?) — Build (and check the existence of) the canonical URL for a chord, scale or instrument page — absolute, on the Warrior Network site that is home to the instrument's family, or otherwise on the network's hub, https://stringwarrior.com — so you can cite a source without guessing at path spelling or at which site to name.

How Every Answer Is Cited

1

One Address

An AI client connects once, to one endpoint. It never needs to know that the network’s answers are spread across separate sites.

2

Answers From Pages

Every answer is read from the data a sister site already publishes as pages — a chord’s voicings, a scale’s notes, a tuning — rather than written fresh for the question.

3

A Link on Every Answer

Each answer carries the full address of the page that owns it: on the site that is home to the instrument’s family, or on String Warrior, the network’s hub, when no family site covers it.

What It Will Not Do

This site is not a chat window, and it grows no chord, scale or instrument pages of its own. Every one of those already has a home on the network, one subject to each home, and a duplicate here would only compete with the page it copied. Its job is narrower: reach the right page for a client that asks, and say which page it reached. The network page lists every open site, with a sentence on why you would go there.
